Empowered Voices: Unveiling the Transformative Journey of Women through BWIB

How has BWIB Empowered You as a Woman?

Empowerment comes in various forms, but one of the most powerful sources of empowerment can be found in the communities we become a part of. For the members of Berkeley Women in Business (BWIB), this empowerment is a shared experience. BWIB is more than just a student organization; it's a supportive, inclusive, and transformative space for women at UC Berkeley. We reached out to some of our members to hear how BWIB has empowered them as women. Here's what they had to say:

Anvitha, Director of Operations: Nurturing Confidence and Skills

"Being a part of BWIB has been an incredibly empowering experience for me as a woman, as it provides a safe, inclusive space to share opinions and ideas. I have met so many supportive, genuine, and strong women, who have become an invaluable part of my Berkeley experience. Through BWIB's mentorship programs and events, I have honed valuable interpersonal and technical skills, learned more about the business world, and gained more confidence in my leadership abilities. The GEA event hosted by UR always provides valuable insights into allyship in the workforce, fostering vibrant discussions about gender equity and professional solidarity. BWIB is a source of inspiration and empowerment that has played a pivotal role in my personal and professional growth."

Claire, Marketing Committee Member: A Safe Space for Support and Growth

"BWIB has empowered me as a woman by granting me an opportunity to meet and form valuable relationships with driven women. Specifically, the organization has provided me with a safe space to share concerns on topics like gender equality and representation in the workforce. It has allowed me to receive heartfelt advice on navigating such challenges as a woman. Likewise, BWIB encourages a culture of solidarity while putting forth collective growth as its core value by offering real, applicable, professional lessons in different forms."

Archita, External Vice President: Encouraging Personal and Professional Development

"BWIB has provided me with an incredibly supportive and driven community that has always pushed me to be my best self. They have taught me not to self-select myself out of roles, how to go after what I truly want, how to ask for help when I need it, and ultimately how to be a mentor and supporter to other women in business as well."

Shivanshi, Community Development Committee Member: Confidence in being a Businesswoman

“I feel more confident when it comes to making decisions and also talking to people, especially networking and making conversations with people that are in the workforce already. BWIB has been a great place to work and I see myself as a confident businesswoman.”

Berkeley Women in Business is much more than a student organization; it's a platform that empowers women through support, mentorship, and a culture of solidarity.
